Description
No. 9 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house is three bays wide and features a symmetrical design. The ground floor has channelling and steps leading to a central entrance flanked by Doric half columns. Above the entrance, there is a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bay windows with Corinthian pilasters on the upper storey. The outer windows on the second floor also have pilasters. A small balustraded balcony is present at the central window, and there is a rich cornice along the top. The balustraded parapet includes three dormers, with the outer two being pedimented and the inner one featuring chimney outlets. Additionally, there are cast iron balconies at the ground floor level. This house is part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
