Description

No. 11 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house has a symmetrical design, three bays wide, and is set on a hill. The ground floor is characterised by channelled detailing, with steps leading to a central entrance framed by Doric half columns, which are sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows are situated on either side, featuring Corinthian pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters are also present on the outer windows of the second floor, and a small balustraded balcony sits above the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers: the outer two are pedimented, while the central one includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
