Description

This is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. The house is constructed of stucco, with a symmetrical design of three bays wide, arranged 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelled detailing and a central entrance with altered stucco porch, linked by a continuous entablature. An altered wrought and cast iron glazed canopy covers the steps leading to the entrance. Two-storey canted bay windows are located to either side, with Corinthian pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters also feature on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned above the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer features chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
