Description
No. 25 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelling. Steps lead to a central entrance framed by Doric half columns. Each side features a two-storey canted bay window, with Corinthian pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters are also present on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is situated at the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers are pedimented, and the central dormer includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor. The building was designed as part of the planned layout for Holland Park.
