Description
No. 24 is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout of Holland Park. The house is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. It is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelling. Steps lead to the central entrance, which is sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy, supported by Doric half columns. Two-storey canted bay windows are positioned on each side, featuring Corinthian pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is located centrally beneath a window. The house has a rich cornice, and a balustraded parapet which incorporates three dormers: the outer two are pedimented, and the central one has chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
