12, Holland Park W11

No 12 is a detached house built in 1862, constructed of stucco. It stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and features a symmetrical three-bay design. The ground floor has channelling, and there are steps leading up to a central entrance flanked by Doric half columns. Above the steps is a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bay windows, each supported by Corinthian pilasters on the upper storey. The outer windows on the second floor also have pilasters. A small balustraded balcony is present at the central window. The house is topped with a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet that includes three dormers; the outer two are pedimented, while the inner one has chimney outlets. Additionally, there are cast iron balconies on the ground floor. This house is part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
