Description

This detached house was built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic and a basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelling. Steps lead to a central entrance, which is sheltered by a wrought iron and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows are located on each side, featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters are also present on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony sits in front of the central second-floor window. The building boasts a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers are pedimented, while the central dormer features chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
