Description

This detached house was built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor is characterised by channelling. Steps lead to a central entrance, sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the central entrance, each featuring Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters also feature on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned in front of the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies adorn the ground floor.
