Description
No. 69, Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The symmetrical facade is three bays wide, arranged 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelled detailing, leading to a central entrance with steps sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy supported by Doric half columns. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the entrance, each featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned centrally on the second floor. The building has a rich cornice and a parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
