Description

No. 62 Holland Park is a detached house dating from 1862, built of stucco. It is three storeys high, with an attic and basement. The house has a symmetrical facade of three bays, arranged 1:1:1. The ground floor is characterised by channelling. A central entrance is approached by steps with a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the entrance, each featuring Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned above the central window. A rich cornice runs along the facade and is topped by a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the outer two are pedimented, while the central dormer shows chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor. The building forms part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
