Description
No. 51 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout of Holland Park. The house is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. It has a symmetrical facade of three bays, arranged 1:1:1. The ground floor is channelled, and a central entrance is accessed by steps flanked by Doric half columns. Canted bay windows extend two stories from each side, featuring Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters also frame the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned in front of the central window. The building has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet that incorporates three dormers; the two outer dormers are pedimented while the central dormer has chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
