Description

No. 65, Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house has a symmetrical design, three bays wide laid out as 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelling. Steps lead to a central entrance framed by Doric half columns. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the centre, each adorned with Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also decorate the outer windows on the second floor, and a small balustraded balcony highlights the central window. A rich cornice runs along the top of the building, above which the attic has been rebuilt in stucco while retaining the central window. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor. The house was built as part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
