Description

Park Cottage is a circa 1840 terraced house located on the south side of Northampton Park in Islington. The brick facade is covered with stucco, scored to resemble ashlar, and the roof is hidden behind a parapet. The property is one storey high with a basement.

The main front, facing Northampton Park, has four bays. Steps lead up to a round-arched entrance in the second bay from the east, featuring original railings, a panelled door, and a fanlight. Flat-arched windows flank the entrance, with the easternmost retaining its original glazing bars. A band runs along the cornice level, and a parapet extends over the three easternmost bays, with a lower parapet on the western bay. Two blank, flat-arched windows are situated on the west side, while two round-arched windows, along with a cornice and blocking course, face St Paul’s Place. The property is included in the listing primarily for its contribution to the wider group value of the area.
