Description
These are a pair of semi-detached houses located on the north side of Northampton Park, dating from around 1845. Constructed around the mid-19th century, they are built of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with stucco and roofs of asbestos slate on number 2 and Welsh slate on number 4. The houses are two storeys high with a basement and have dormers in the attic. Each house has three windows, and they are divided by a narrow, recessed panel. The basement and porch are stuccoed. Steps lead up to a flat-arched entrance in the slightly recessed outer bay, which is set within a shallow porch featuring engaged Doric antae, a plain entablature, an overlight, and an original panelled door. All windows have heads of gauged brick. A broad, tripartite segmental-arched window is located on the ground floor, set within a shallow segmental-arched recess. Three flat-arched windows are on the first floor, all with sashes of original design. The building has deep boxed eaves and a hipped roof. A stack is located on the party wall.
