Description

These are a pair of semi-detached houses located on the north side of Northampton Park, dating from approximately 1845. The houses are constructed of yellow brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco finishes and slate roofs. Each house has two full stories over a basement, with dormers in the attic space. They each feature three windows, and are divided by a shallow, recessed panel. The basement and porch are stuccoed. Steps lead up to a flat-arched entrance within a slightly recessed outer bay, incorporating engaged Doric antae, a plain entablature, an overlight, and a panelled door of original design. All windows have gauged brick heads; a broad, segmental-arched tripartite window is set within a shallow segmental-arched panel on the ground floor. Flat-arched sash windows are present to the first floor, with the exception of the inner first-floor window of number 10, which has been replaced. The building features deep boxed eaves, a hipped roof, and stacks along the party wall. A 20th-century extension is present to the return of number 12.
