Description

These are a pair of semi-detached houses located in Northampton Park, built around 1845. They are constructed of stucco with an asbestos slate roof. The houses are two storeys high, with a basement, and number 3 has a dormer window in the attic. Each house has three windows. They are separated by a shallow, recessed panel. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication, and there are steps leading to a slightly-recessed outer entrance bay. Each entrance is set within a shallow porch with engaged Doric antae and a plain entablature. They feature a panelled door of original design with an overlight. The ground floor also has one broad, tripartite segmental-arched window set within a recessed panel of smooth stucco. A storey band runs around the houses, above which are three flat-arched windows to the first floor, all with sashes of original design. The houses have deep boxed eaves and a hipped roof, with a chimney stack marking the party wall.
