Description

These are two terraced houses, built around 1845 and later combined into a single property. They are located on St Paul’s Road in Islington. The houses are constructed of yellow brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco sections. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. There are three windows facing St Paul's Road and one facing St Paul’s Place. The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, with the ground floor incorporating banded rustication. The ground-floor windows are round-arched, set within round-arched panels of smooth stucco. The first- and second-floor windows have flat arches, featuring gauged brick detailing; window-guards are present on the first-floor windows. A remodelled stucco cornice sits above a blocking course. The entrance on St Paul's Place has been completely altered. The buildings are included on the list primarily for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding streetscape.
