Description
The vestry hall serving St Paul's Church was built around 1830 by the office of Sir Charles Barry and extended by one bay to the north around 1870. It is constructed of gray brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building is a single storey with a central arched door on the east facade. There are two bays on either side, each containing paired lancet windows set in flat-arched stone surrounds. The gable windows consist of three lights with perpendicular tracery, with the northern window being particularly elegant. The single-bay extension includes a three-light lancet window within stone and brick surrounds, as well as a projecting central porch with a double door in a stone surround beneath a gable. Inside, the hall has an open king post roof with a distinct square pattern of rafters and purlins.
