Description
No. 14 Montpelier Terrace is a mid-19th century terraced house with some 20th-century alterations. The building is finished in stucco and features a flat roof that is obscured by a parapet. It has two storeys above a basement and presents three windows to Montpelier Terrace and three to Montpelier Street, with the southernmost windows being blank. The ground floor showcases banded rustication, and the flat-arched entrance on Montpelier Street is framed by pilasters and an entablature, featuring an overlight and a panelled door that retains its original design. All windows are flat-arched, and there is a two-storey segmental bay to the north, while the southern windows are blank on both floors. The front elevation on Montpelier Terrace includes a ground-floor balcony that is supported over the basement by cast-iron columns and features a cast-iron balustrade, a tented canopy, and a valance. The first-floor windows have blind boxes, and there is a cornice and parapet above. To the north, a coach house with a hayloft above has been converted into a garage in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
