Description

Numbers 32 and 34 are early 19th-century terraced houses. They are built of stucco, with the roof hidden behind a parapet. Number 32 has three storeys over a basement and a one-window frontage to Hampton Place. Number 34 has three storeys over a basement and a three-window frontage to Upper North Street. The ground floor of both properties is decorated with banded rustication. Number 34 has a modern shop front at the corner. Both properties have flat-arched entrances, with pilasters and entablatures; the entrance to Number 34 is located on Upper North Street. Number 32 has a shallow segmental bay extending three storeys, with tripartite sash windows of original design and a bracketed balcony to the first floor featuring cast-iron railings. Number 34 has a similar bay to the first and second floors only, also with sashes of original design. A cornice and blocking course run along the top of the facades. On the return of Number 34, the westernmost first-floor window and the two westernmost second-floor windows are blank, while the others retain sash windows of original design. Chimney stacks are visible along the party walls. The interior was not inspected. Cast-iron area railings with spearhead finials are present at Number 32.
