Description
No. 40 Montpelier Street is a terraced house built around 1845. It features a stucco exterior with a roof that is hidden by a parapet. The building has two storeys, plus dormers, and a three-window range. The ground floor is decorated with chamfered rustication and has a flat-arched entrance, although some details are now missing. To the left of the entrance is a full-height segmental bay. All windows are flat-arched, with those in the bay featuring 6/6 sashes of original design. The window above the entrance is blank. There is a storey band between the ground and first floors, as well as above the second floor, along with a cornice and blocking course. Stacks are located at the party walls. The interior has not been inspected.
