Description
Number 1 is a detached house located on Victoria Place in Brighton, built around 1850. The building is finished in stucco and has a roof that is obscured by a parapet. It stands three storeys high over a basement and features a two-window range that is double fronted but not perfectly symmetrical. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication. The entrance is flat-arched and flanked by Doric pilasters, topped with a wreathed entablature and an overlight that has decorative glazing bars. All the windows are flat-arched. A storey band is brought forward over the canted oriels on the first floor, while the second-floor windows have architraves. The ground and second-floor windows have sashes that are of original design. The building also features a cornice and parapet, along with a side stack. The interior has not been inspected. There are cast-iron railings in the area with spearhead finials.
