Description

Number 73 is a terraced house located on Grand Parade in Brighton, dating from around 1800. It was refronted and had its windows changed in the mid-19th century. The building is finished in stucco with a rusticated ground floor and features a slate mansard roof with a brick chimneystack. It is four storeys tall over a half-basement, with an attic and a three-window range, two of which are in full-height curved bays. The windows are sashes without glazing bars. The first floor has moulded architraves with cornices and paterae. There are two flat-roofed dormers with 6-pane sashes. The entrance features a quadrant-cornered opening with an overlight and a door of original design. The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes an elaborate mid-19th century cast-iron balcony and spear railings leading to the steps and area.
