Description

Number 72 is a terraced house built around 1800, located on Grand Parade in Brighton. The building is constructed of brick, which is now painted on the ground floor, with stucco on the porch. It has four storeys over a half-basement and an attic, featuring a two-window range. The porch has been modified to match the mid-19th century stucco treatment of the adjacent No. 73, which is not included in this listing. The porch has a quadrant-cornered opening with an overlight and a panelled door that retains its original design. All windows are flat-arched with gauged brick heads. There is a replacement balcony on the first floor and an early 19th century rainwater head. The building has a parapet and two late 20th century dormers in the mansard roof. The interior has not been inspected. The property features cast-iron railings leading to the steps and area.
