Description
No. 69 Grand Parade is a terraced house dating from around 1800. It features a combination of stucco and red brick laid in Flemish bond, topped with a slate roof. The building has four storeys over a basement, plus an attic, and is arranged in a three-window range.
The ground floor showcases banded rustication and has steps leading up to a round-arched entrance that includes a fanlight with decorative glazing and a panelled door that retains its original design. To the right, there is a round-arched passage entrance. The full-height segmental bay features tripartite windows with sashes, which are likely replacements, and reeded spandrels. Flat-arched windows are located on either side of the bay, with the first-floor windows being French windows that open onto a bracketed verandah with a convex canopy, which has probably been largely replaced. The building is topped with a parapet and has dormers in the mansard roof, along with a stack on the party wall. The interior has not been inspected.
