Terraced house. 1786, refronted in the early C19. Stucco, roof obscured by parapet. 5 storeys over basement, 3-window range. Ground-floor decorated with chamfered rustication. Round-arched entrance framed by engaged Doric columns supporting entablature and open pediment with dentil cornice; panelled reveals; fanlight and panelled door of original design. All windows flat-arched; storey band above the ground floor; moulded storey band between second and third floors; cornice to third and fourth floors; the windows to the second and third floors have moulded architraves and bracketed sills; secondary cornice above 4th floor, with blocking course; stack to party wall. Cast-iron railings to steps and area. The 4th floor of this house has probably been added. INTERIOR: not inspected. (Carder T: The Encyclopaedia of Brighton: Lewes: 1990-).
