Description

Number 4 is a terraced house built around 1829, located on Cavendish Place in Brighton. The house is constructed of stucco and has a roof that is obscured by a parapet. It stands four storeys high over a basement and features a three-window range. The flat-arched entrance includes an overlight and a panelled door of original design, flanked by pilasters with consoles at the overlight level that support a cornice that breaks back in the centre. The house has a canted bay on the ground, first, and second floors, with all windows being flat-arched. There is a balcony with replacement railings, a storey band between the first and second floors, and a stepped cornice on the bay and between the second and third floors. Pilasters are present at the attic, along with a cornice and blocking course. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings leading to the steps and area, featuring spearhead finials.
