Description
Nos. 31 to 35 on London Street are shops dating from the late 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. The building features painted brick and timber weather-boarding on the fourth floor, topped with pantiles. It has three storeys, jettied at the second floor, and four storeys over the left-hand two bays. There are eleven second-floor windows, including three blind windows. The shopfront is from the 20th century and includes three recessed doors and a wide fascia. The first-floor has sash windows with glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches, while the second floor has both casement and sash windows. A coved cornice adds to the architectural detail. Inside, there is a 16th-century wall-post and arched brace in the far-west room. The upper floors extend over No. 37 London Street.
