Description
No. 27 London Street is a house and shop that dates from the 16th century and later, with a facade from the 19th century. The building is stuccoed and is likely timber framed, although the roof cladding is not visible. It stands three storeys tall. The late 19th-century shop front features ornamented console brackets at the corners and a dentil cornice. The upper two storeys are divided into two bays, which are highlighted by pilasters. There is a moulded cornice with an oversailing eaves band at the mid-level of the first floor, with the moulding on the left pilasters set slightly higher. On the first floor, there is a left-hand canted bay window with a moulded surround and console brackets supporting the canopy. To the right, there are two leaded cross casements in similar surrounds. The second floor has three sash windows with glazing bars, each in simple moulded surrounds.
