Description

No. 2 Swan Lane is an early 19th-century shop built of painted brick. The building has two storeys, with three storeys on the left side. It features five first-floor windows and a tripartite shopfront that includes a central recessed door. There is a yard entry at the extreme left. The central two bays are recessed at the first floor level and are adorned with decorative cast-iron railings. The building has sash windows throughout, except for a 20th-century casement window in the right-hand bay. The sash windows have bolection moulded surrounds, with segmental arches featuring keystones at the first floor and flat arches at the second floor. A simple box and fascia cornice completes the design.
