Description
Nos. 179 and 181 on Uxbridge Road is a house that has been converted into three dwellings. It was originally built in the early 19th century and shows signs of earlier construction. The building is made of brick, with some parts rendered, and features a tiled roof with a U-shaped plan. It stands two storeys tall, with the centre rendered and a central entrance flanked by leaded side lights. On the first floor, there is a leaded two-light casement window. The projecting cross wings have entrances with cambered heads in the re-entrant walls, and the gabled cross wings feature three-light casements with cambered heads and 19th-century bargeboards. There are chimney stacks on the outer pitches of the cross wings and at the rear of the central range. The roof is hipped at the back, which is rendered. There are also one-storey flat-roofed additions that are not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
