Description
This is a house located at 239 Uxbridge Road, built in the late 18th century, possibly refronting an earlier 18th-century structure. It is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof and has two storeys. The front features a symmetrical arrangement of two windows and a central entrance. The entrance is accessed by steps with short scrolled wrought iron rails leading up to a six-fielded panelled door, which is framed by a reeded doorcase topped with a cornice hood. The flanking windows and those on the first floor are glazing bar sashes set in reveals with gauged brick and flat arched heads. The eaves are adorned with dentilled brickwork, and there is an insurance marker above the entrance. At the rear, there are two stacks on the pitch of the roof, earlier brickwork, two French windows, two glazing bar sashes with segmental heads, and two hipped dormers. There is also a lean-to outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
