Description
No. 21 on Main Street is a house that dates largely from the early 19th century and was formerly two separate dwellings. It is constructed of brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a three-unit plan, with an additional blocked doorway that has been converted into a window on the right side of the front elevation. On the left side, there are two renewed three-light horizontally sliding sash windows, along with a doorway, all featuring flat timber lintels. To the right of the door and the inserted window, there is another three-light horizontally sliding sash window, both of which have cambered brick heads. The upper floor has two three-light horizontally sliding sash windows, with the one on the right also having a cambered brick head. The house has gable end and axial stacks, a cobble plinth, and shows signs of having been re-fronted on the gable wall, where some blocked vents indicate that it may have originally been a barn.
