Description
Nos. 16 and 17 on How End Road is a house that has been divided into two properties. It dates from the 17th century but has been reworked in the 19th century. The building features a timber-framed construction with cement render, and part of the ground floor has been rebuilt or recased in red brick. It has a clay tile roof and a three-room plan across two storeys. The south elevation displays a variety of casement windows, including one that retains diamond leading, with three windows on each floor. There is a gabled dormer in the right-hand attic. A plank door is located between the two left-hand bays. A red brick double ridge stack serves the two right-hand bays. Additionally, there is a 19th-century one-storey and attic brick block at the left end, along with a 20th-century brick lean-to at the right end.
