Description

Stagenhoe Park is a country house that was used as a nursing home at the time of listing. It dates from the 18th century and was rebuilt after a fire around 1737, with significant extensions added in the 19th century and later. The main entrance porch is located on the west side. The south facade is the most prominent feature, with stuccoed walls, 11 bays, and a three-storey central section of five bays that slightly projects forward under a pediment adorned with a sculptured relief. The building has balustraded parapets, and the side wings are two storeys high with three bays each. The roofs are covered with slates. The interior has undergone considerable alterations, including the removal of the original staircase.
