2/3 Farmhouse at Standon Friars (along track 350m from road)

Farmhouse. Early C19. Grey/yellow brick with hipped slate roof. A 2-storeys, 3 windows wide L-plan, house facing W, with kitchen range at NE. Symmetrical front with chamfered plinth, projecting band at eaves and pilasters next each corner and framing the narrower central bay. Stone floor band of less projection. Recessed sash windows with 8/8 panes in the outer bays and 6/6 panes over the central door. French windows to right of door. Round headed arched doorway in round headed recess with 6-panel door, reeded pilasters, corner blocks and paterae, a narrow cornice over, and a cusped fanlight. Painted stucco capitals to pilasters, with echinus moulding, beneath the wide plastered eaves soffit with brackets. 3 windows N side with corner pilasters, single-storey canted bay sash window, floor band, and door with segmental arch up 3 steps and timber porch.
