Description
Audleby House is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof with two hipped ranges and a flat section in between. The building has deep overhanging bracketed eaves and four yellow brick chimney stacks.
The front elevation is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has a painted brick plinth and a painted brick band at the first floor. The central door bay is recessed and features a narrow entrance with a central four-panelled and moulded door. This door is flanked by Greek Doric columns that support a plain entablature, topped with a traceried fanlight that has stained glass borders, all set within a plain semicircular surround. On either side of the door are glazing bar sash windows. Above the door, there are three similar glazing bar sash windows, all with narrow glazing bars. To the left of the main entrance is a lower two-storey bay with single glazing bar sash windows on each floor.
The side front has three deep glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor and three similar windows on the first floor. Inside, the house features moulded plaster cornices and a plain elliptical arch leading from the hall to the stair. The staircase itself has plain balusters and a carved string.
