Description
Number 24 Holly House entrance piers and gates is a house, now also a dental surgery, dating from the early 19th century. It is built of brick with stucco dressings and has a concrete tiled roof featuring raised stone coped gables and two brick end stacks, forming an L-shape. The building has a three-storey, five-bay front with a stucco plinth and a dentillated eaves course.
The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door, accessed by five steps, and is topped with a petaloid traceried fanlight. The door is framed by dentillated wooden panelled reveals and flanked by quarter engaged Tuscan Doric columns supporting a plain entablature and open pediment. On either side of the entrance are two glazing bar sash windows. The first floor features five glazing bar sash windows, while the second floor has five smaller similar windows. All windows have splayed stucco lintels with raised keystones.
To the left of the front is a gateway with flanking rusticated stucco walls, which contain four-centred arches with decorative doors featuring pierced arabesques. The gateway is completed by four gate piers that terminate in moulded square capstones.
