Description

Holly House and the attached front wall are a house and wall dated 1720, with later additions. The building is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a pantile roof, following a T-shaped plan. It has two storeys and two bays, with a wing added to the rear left and an additional cell on the left that has a rear outshut.

The earlier range on the right showcases herringbone-tooled stone, with two 16-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves on each floor, and a small fire window to the left on the ground floor. All windows have herringbone-tooled ashlar lintels, and the sashes feature projecting ashlar cills. The building has shaped kneelers, raised verges with ashlar coping, and ashlar end stacks, with the left stack being shouldered and the right stack featuring a table, cornice, and an incised date.

The added cell on the left, likely from the early 19th century, is made of smaller stones and has quoins on the left side. It includes a small 4-pane sash window to the left of a 20th-century glazed door, with a single 4-pane sash window above. The lintels are consistent with those of the earlier range, and the first-floor window has a projecting cill. The left gable features an eaves band, a shaped kneeler, and ashlar coping.

At the rear, the 19th-century wing has quoins on the ground floor, two first-floor windows, shaped kneelers, ashlar coping, and stacks. The attached front wall is approximately 1 metre high, with flat ashlar coping that returns to the house, ramped up at each end, and includes a break for a gateway.
