Description
This building is a house and garage located in the garden of No 24 Holly House in Caistor, dating from the 17th century with early 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick with a coursed ironstone foundation, topped by a hipped pantiled roof and featuring a brick ridge stack. The front facing High Street has two bays and two storeys. Access to the ground floor is via four steps from street level, accompanied by a section of iron railing with a footscraper. The entrance consists of an off-centre six-panelled door set in a plain wooden doorcase with a reeded top rail. To the left of the door is a glazing bar sash window. On the first floor, there is a single glazing bar sash window at the eaves, while the lower openings have segmental brick heads. Inside, there is a groom's cottage facing the street and an early 19th-century stable at the rear. The roof features a staggered butt purlin from the 17th century.
