Description

No. 2 Hestcroft House is a mid-19th century house constructed of painted brick with stucco dressings, topped by a hipped slate roof and featuring two rendered wall stacks. The house presents a two-story, three-bay facade. A central six-panelled door is set within a wooden doorcase with circular details at the angles and a shallow flat hood, and is accompanied by a traceried overlight and panelled reveals. Above the door is a contemporary wooden carving of a female head. Single glazing bar sash windows flank the doorway, and three similar windows are positioned on the first floor. All windows have rusticated stucco lintels with raised keystones, although the keystones of the upper windows are partially hidden by later guttering. The building is included on the register for group value only.
