Description
Hesketh House is a house dating from around 1840, constructed of brick with stucco dressings and a hipped slate roof. The building features chamfered quoins, a first-floor band, modillioned eaves, and has two side wall stacks and one rear wall stack. It has a projecting single bay at the center. The windows are glazing bar sashes with flat lintels supported by brackets. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range.
The central entrance is marked by a projecting rusticated doorcase with a round-headed opening and a keystone, which covers a recessed eight-panel door that includes two glazed panels and a plain fanlight. On either side of the door, there is a single sash window. The left side of the house features a stair window above with Gothic glazing bars, while to the right there is a blank window. The right side facing King Street has two small 20th-century casements on each floor.
