Description
The Former Trustee Savings Bank, located at No 28 Market Place in Caistor, is a building that dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of colour-washed brick and features a hipped pantile roof.
The building has a three-storey, two-bay front on the ground floor, with a single bay above, and is adorned with a dentillated eaves course. The entrance is an off-centre 20th-century hardwood door with a surround. To the right of the entrance is a shallow oriel bow window from the 18th century, supported by wooden brackets. This window has glazing bars, a plain frieze, and a moulded milled cornice.
On the first floor, there is a glazing bar sash window, while the second floor features a smaller glazing bar sash, both of which have segmental heads. Additionally, there is a matching bow window and glazing bar sash on the High Street facade.
