Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Market Place are two shops with storage above, originally a single property, dating from the 17th century with 19th and 20th century alterations. The building is constructed of rendered brick and features a steeply pitched pantiled roof with stone-coped gables, two brick gable stacks, and one ridge stack.
The front is two storeys high and has four bays. On the left side, there is a mid-19th century shop front that includes a recessed glazed door with a plain overlight and panelled reveals, accompanied by a three-light shop window. This shop front is adorned with panelled end pilasters and a fascia with a cornice supported by deep moulded consoles. To the right, there is a 20th century shop front featuring large plate glass windows, a modern door, and a deep fascia. The first floor has, on the left, a plain sash window with a stucco surround, and to the right, there are three plain sash windows.
