Description

The cross base at the Church of All Hallows is likely from the 14th century and features late 19th-century alterations and additions by Hodgson Fowler. It is constructed from limestone and sandstone ashlar. The base is facetted and square, with an octagonal shaft that descends to a square base socket, enhanced by stop-chamfered edges. The cross base is set on two 19th-century octagonal hammered stone steps and topped with a later shaft that has a Crucifixion terminal.
