Description

The Old Vicarage and the Old Vicarage Cottage are two houses that originated as a single vicarage, built in the 17th century and significantly altered in the late 18th century, with further changes in the 19th and 20th centuries. The construction is of painted brick, with brick pantiled roofs, raised brick coped gables featuring kneelers, and one gable stack as well as an external stack to the left. The left-hand front of the building has four bays and two storeys, featuring a brick first-floor band and a dentilated eaves course. A central 20th-century half-glazed door is flanked by two plain sash windows to the left and one plain sash window to the right. The first floor has four glazing bar sash windows. The right-hand front has two irregular bays with a brick first-floor band and dentilated eaves course. A central 20th-century glazed door is accompanied by a 20th-century triple casement window to the left. The first floor has two 20th-century casement windows, between which is a blocked window opening displaying a Phoenix Company metal fire insurance plaque.
