Description
The Fox and Hounds is an inn that has been converted into a house, dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a red brick plinth, with decorative panelled pargetting and steeply pitched shingled roofs. The building is two storeys high and faces south, with a gabled one and a half storey crosswing on the west side, where the entrance door is located in the angle. There is a central chimney located third from the east end, along with a slightly projecting 18th-century red brick chimney on the east gable. A side chimney is present on the west side of the crosswing, which also has a gabled dormer on each side. The main range of the house has three windows, featuring three-light flush casement windows on the upper floor and paired Yorkshire sliding casements on the ground floor, each with small hoods above. At the rear, there is a two-storey parallel extension. The south gable of the crosswing includes a four-light flush casement window with small panes on both floors.
