House. First half of C17. One and a half storeys, timberframed, facing N. Half-hipped thatched roof with eyebrow dormer over wall plate in middle of house. Close-studding exposed on upper part of front wall with modern pargetting in panels. Weatherboarding below and on other walls of building. Thatched and weatherboarded modern extension at rear and across W end. Modern wooden casement windows. 3-unit lobby-entry plan with very large central chimney at lower end (W) of hall. Undivided W and E external gable chimneys. E chimney off-centre, incorporating a brick carved with '18TC32'. Axial chamfered floor-beams carry exposed, squared joists. Straight tension braces in partition wall. Rear wall plate jointed with a face- halved and bladed scarf. Straight braces to tie beam at E end. Clasped purlin roof. Separate access at E end and door cut through tie beam suggests a possible open hall. Front has a rustic gabled canopy and a 3-light early C19 window to right.
