Description
The barn and outbuilding located north of Carldane Court at Chaldean Farm is a 17th-century timber frame structure. It is weatherboarded on a brick base and features a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of five bays and has a central, projecting, gabled cart entrance on the south side. The walls are supported by curved braces, with tie beams and collar purlins. There is a later lean-to addition on the west side of the cart entrance. To the east, there is a single-storey, three-bay shed that is open on the south side, likely dating from the 18th century. The east gable end of the shed has slatted ventilators.
