Description
The building is a barn range with a cartshed wing located on the north side of the yard at Model Farm. It consists of a pair of barns under one gable and an old tile roof. The eastern barn has been partly demolished but features an interesting structure, likely from the 18th century due to its knapped flint brick dressed walls, although the brickwork of the west party wall is probably from the 17th century. The brickwork frames the flint walls in panels and includes two tiers of ventilation slits. The roof has queenstrut trusses, with tiebeams that spring from seemingly older timber corbels. There is an open brick outshot in the north wall with an "aisle" post that is jowled and braced to the tiebeam and purlin. The main barn to the west is timber framed, with a combination of brick and weatherboard walls, and appears to date from the 18th century, featuring queenstrut trusses and jowled posts. It has a gabled cart entry on the north side and full height doors on the south side. The cartshed wing to the south consists of three bays, is timber framed, and has an old tiled roof that is hipped at the south end, with an open front to the east.
